The Chemical Structure Association Trust (CSA Trust) has launched a program to support and encourage young researchers which is intended to assist the next generation of scientists primarily in their professional career development. Funds from the CSA Trust Grant are awarded for research activities, travel to other research groups, participation in conferences, access to computer-supported facilities or the purchase of technical equipment for the scientists' own research purposes.

The CSA Trust considers the storage, preparation and query of information to play a key role in the success of chemical research. Therefore the international organization makes an effort to achieve greater, lasting awareness of the importance of technical chemical information as a success factor. The CSA Trust Grant also serves this purpose. As a member of the CSA Trust foundation, FIZ CHEMIE Berlin supports this initiative.

Applicants distinguished by outstanding research work in the fields of information storage, processing and queries for chemical structures, reactions and compounds award and who can demonstrate plausibly that their career development is of potential benefit to the area of technical information for chemistry can receive a grant of up to USD 3000 in each case. The age limit is 35.
