FIZ CHEMIE as part of the Leibniz Scientific Community

The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Scientific Community (WGL) includes 86 research institutes not attached to universities and service establishments for science as well as six associated members. WGL institutes take a strategic, topic-oriented approach to problems relevant to the whole of society. They engage in various types of research in this effort, such as basic, large-scale and application-oriented research. Along with research, great value is placed on scientific services as well as knowledge transfer to the political, scientific, business and public arenas. The institutes have about 13,700 employees and a total budget of about € 1.1 billion. They are jointly financed by the German federal government and the state governments.

FIZ CHEMIE is a recognized service establishment in Section D of the WGL. The institute is particularly involved in the regional committee for press work of the WGL in Berlin/Brandenburg and participates on a regular basis in events organized by the WGL, such as the parliamentary evening in Berlin.
